| Develop and implement special process strategy on Welding, Surface treatment, and Heat treatment application with a focus on World Class Manufacturing. Develop domain expertise & contribute to development of standard procedures & training, evaluate new technology and work to solve issues. Reviewing of Materials, Coating, Welding documentation within a team of Engineering, Sourcing, Supplier to provide support and guidance to the project. | |
| 1. Review and identify Customer's welding requirements. Develop the welding processes and procedures from stated requirements. 2. Provide Welding Engineering & Surface treatment application support to Product Engineers, Sourcing, Supplier and Customers as required. 3. Support and development of welding processes including but not limited to: Gas Metal Arc Welding, Tungsten Inert gas welding, Arc welding, Plasma welding. Materials include C12a, WCC, WC6, WC9, etc 4. Be responsible for the qualification and training of production weld operators. Ownership and maintenance of weld training standards and requirements. 5. Maintain and improve current welding processes relative to existing product designs, document design and process requirements utilizing work instructions, weld procedures, and other associated manufacturing documentation. 6. Ensure welding processes comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Standard. 7. Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) programs consisting of design & process development, design reviews and manufacturing implementation as it pertains to welding & surface treatment. 8. Design and implementation of weld equipment and tooling to support new design while leveraging technical expertise to increase efficiency and profitability 9. Optimize manufacturing processes utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodology. 10. Existing Vendor technical support as part of continuous improvement. 11. Support troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis of Shop issues and evaluate potential changes to improve Manufacturing Capabilities on welding, surface treatment. 12. Prepare & review WPS and WPQR. 13. NDT and mechanical testing disposition. 14. Welder’s qualification as per ASME and IBR requirements. 15. Selection of surface treatment method for valve components. Defining process steps to adhere to meet coating specification. 16. Drive corrective & preventive action for failures due to surface treatment process on components. 17. Project Management in implementing special process. | |
| 1. B.E / M.E Degree in Welding Engineering / Mechanical Engineering. 2. 5 to 8 years of experience working in the capacity as Welding Engineer, Surface treatment domain. 3. Extensive knowledge Welding techniques like Gas Metal Arc Welding, Tungsten Inert gas welding, Arc welding, Plasma welding. 4. In-depth knowledge of ASME Sec. IX 5. In depth knowledge and expertise on the most commonly used non-destructive examination techniques (MT, PT, and RT & UT). 6. In-depth knowledge of surface treatment techniques like Nitriding, Chrome plating, Hot dip galvanizing, Electroless Nickel plating, Zinc plating, Fluro carbon coating. | |
| 1. Hands on experience with usage of welding equipment. 2. Must be able to interact successfully with production technicians and work well in groups. 3. Proven ability to manage multiple projects. 4. Project management experience. 5. Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance as it relates to individual parts. and overall assemblies (ANSI Y14.5). 6. Knowledge on Heat treatment technologies. 7. Welding & Inspection certification course from “Welding Research Institute” or equivalent. |
